Possible gold alloys?

In Ironman, Tony Stark mentions that his suit is composed of a titanium-gold alloy. I realize that gold by itself is not the ideal type of armor, because of its weight and its extreme malleability and ductility(its quite soft). But it is also very dense, more dense than lead. I was wondering if any alloy involving gold would be practical for armor.
