Why do those on the Left [who are used to getting it right on so many issues] get things so back to front when?

I'm on the left and I'm right behind Israel. They have a right to defend themselves against those who would wish to destroy them, and if someone is foolhardy enough to fire a missile into their country, they shouldn't be surprised if Israel responds by blowing the hell out of their country. The people on the aide ship were asked several times not to travel to where they were travelling and to let the Israeli authorities check the aide before it was delivered, a very reasonable request, most ships complied, but one thought they would ignore the warnings and then attacked the Israelis when they boarded her. Members of the crew were quite happy to try and bash the Israelis heads in, but weren't so happy when they got shot, well tough ****, they should have listened in the first place. It appears nothing has been learnt from this as another ship is about to embark on the same mission, if it does then my advice to the Israelis is to blow it out of the water. What people should realise is that Israel is not stopping any aide going to Gaza, it is just asking that it can check it to ensure there is nothing amongst it that can be used to attack its country, we would do exactly the same in their position and in fact already have. What do people think all the airport checks are for and why they were stepped up after the terrorist incidents, and our restrictions are far tougher than any that Israel have imposed.
