Does he like me? how do i ask him out, i'm way shy?

I think that he's really likes you as a person and maybe for more than that. He is just probably being that way to show his feelings a little but taking things slow cause he could have asked you out, and if your friend tried hooking you guys up & he said idk then he probably wants to wait, i think you should talk to him about it and see what happens from there, don't be too quick about it , about asking him out, if he seems open to the conversation & it's going well, then you should step up & ask him out .
