Do the symptoms of mononucleosis fluctuate?

I had it about 10 years ago. I was in the hospital for a week with it. I was very tired I couldn't do anything. It was a chore to take a shower. After the week in the hospital with meds I was better. It took awhile to feel better though. I was told not to donate blood from then on because it would drag me down. Hope this helps
